Gulf Navigation Holding, a United Arab Emirates-based shipping and marine services company, has taken delivery of the Deffi, a newly built chemical tanker constructed at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan, South Korea. The delivery of the newly built chemical tanker is the first of three tankers expected in 2009. Contracted at a cost of $55 million, the vessel is the third in a series of four chemical carriers ordered by Gulf Navigation. The new tanker has deadweight of 45,951 metric tons, a capacity of 54,300 cubic meters and 20 specially coated cargo tanks. The vessel will be handed over to the International Shipping Company, a subsidiary of The Saudi Basic Industries on a 15-year time charter.
