CPC subsidiary inks SR250m accord for Jabal Omar project

Premco Ready-Mix, a subsidiary of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC), signed an agreement recently worth SR250 million to supply ready-mix concrete for the Jabal Omar project in Makkah.
Dr. Faysal Alaquil, director, Business Development and official spokesman of CPC, said: “The amount of concrete required for this project is 1.1 million cubic meters out of which 80 percent will be supplied by Premco Ready-Mix.” He added that “the concrete supply to Jabal Omar project will begin January 2009 and the project will be completed in December 2010.”
He further said ‘”this project is one of the largest projects that is being implemented in Makkah, and would transform Jabal Omar area to a modern area consistent with the government's adopted approach for the development of the two holy cities, Makkah and Medina.”
Meanwhile, CPC nearly completed supplying concrete for King Abdullah University in Thowal, where 200 thousand cubic meters of ready-mix concrete worth SR52m were supplied. The project started in 2008 and expected to be completed soon.
Premco Ready-Mix recently purchased new and advanced equipment worth from Zahid Tractor, E. A. Juffali and Brothers Co., Bekheet for Heavy Machineries and Alesayi Group, in order to accommodate for their new project requirements. The new equipment included a modern concrete treatment plant, mobile concrete mixers, crushers, concrete pumps, trucks and transport vehicles. The company as well uses latest techniques to develop the concrete industry to meet the actual needs and the implementation of large projects in several locations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad.
Premco Ready-Mix employs about 500 highly trained labor and technicians to execute its various projects.
