Dr. Salih Bin Abdullah Bin Humaid, President of the Shoura (Consultative) Council, held talks on Saturday with Bogdan Borusewicz, 11th Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland. Borusewicz is currently on an official visit to the Kingdom. During the meeting, Sheikh Bin Humaid hailed the deep-rooted Saudi-Polish relations, pointing out to the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz to the republic of Poland in June 2007, which achieved significant results and turned out to be highly useful and productive at all levels. He emphasized the need to intensify efforts to develop relations and cooperation between the two countries. The Marshal of the Polish Senate thanked and appreciated Dr. Bin Humaid for the invitation to visit Saudi Arabia, and expressed his government's and people's keenness to forge closer relations with the Kingdom in light of its political, religious and economic clout, both regionally and internationally. He also hailed the Kingdom's tremendous efforts to bring about peace and security at regional and international levels. He also emphasized the significant role of the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. During his visit to the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday, Borusewicz reiterated his country's keenness to boost levels of trade exchange with the Kingdom, as it is one of the most important global economic outlets which Poland seeks to strengthen its relations with. This came in an address during a meeting with a number of Saudi businessmen at the RCCI. Polish Ambassador Adam Kulach said in a speech that the current visit of the Polish business delegation to the Kingdom reflects the importance of the Saudi economy, adding that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries does not conform with the desire of the leaders of the two countries towards greater business investment, nor does it meet the scope and magnitude of the Saudi and Polish markets. Chairman of RCCI's Board of Directors Abdulrahman Al-Jeraisey said Saudi-Polish relations are “historic and deep-rooted”, and the visit of the Polish business delegation to the Kingdom is one of the links of contact between the two countries. __
