Import consignments of eight brands of shampoo found to contain cancer-causing dioxine have been impounded at entry points to the Kingdom, said Saud Al-Fahd, assistant Customs Affairs chief. The action followed an advisory by the Food and Drug Administration to block the imports while the shampoos were being withdrawn from the market. The shampoos are Corpore Sano baby shampoo (product of Spain); Black Seed shampoo and conditioner (manufactured in South Africa); Double Rich shampoo for greasy hair, anti-dandruff and antibacterial system (South Korean product); Himalaya Herbals antidandruff shampoo for normal hair, containing rosemary-tea tree oil (product of India); Icare shampoo with nutritive fruit complex, fortifying shampoo and conditioner (product of Vietnam); Mud shampoo with dead sea extract and essential oils for dry and damaged hair (product of Jordan); and Sehat Cedar herbal shampoo with cedar and myrtle extract and glycerine (product of Iran).
