In the vast wilderness among the desert dunes west of Riyadh, 94 illegal aliens of different nationalities were found abandoned in a smuggling operation, on their way for presumed work opportunities, or even worse to a stash house in Jeddah. Afif Police rushed to the scene of the incident upon receiving several reports from motorists on foreigners stranded on the desert Dhalim-Afif road. Police identified the smuggler as an Indian truck driver working with an accomplice in a smuggling ring. The Indian truck driver and his accomplice dumped the human cargo in the middle of the desert and sped away with big smuggling fees, leaving the smuggled human cargo stranded for hours, police said. Human smugglers have lately grown fat on human cargo smuggled to the Kingdom, making it their very lucrative business. The Indian truck driver and his accomplice fled with around SR65,000 collected from the human smuggling trade, but they were shortly arrested and the truck was seized. The illegal aliens and their smugglers were taken to the authorities concerned for further investigation. - Okaz __
