Propelled by security pressures and constant development of sophisticated security solutions, the global market for information security products and services is set to witness strong growth, and is on course to exceed SR290 billion ($79 billion) by 2010 according to Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organizers of the Intersec trade fair and conference.
The event scheduled to take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Jan. 18-20 is the leading event for commercial & information security, safety & health, fire & rescue, homeland security, counter terrorism & policing in the Middle East, and the largest and most comprehensive outside Europe.
“Conventionally, the market has been spurred by strong growth from the United States and Europe who dominate the global market, collectively accounting for practically two-thirds of the sales, however, the maximum growth is projected to originate from the rapidly increasing Asia-Pacific market,” said Angela Schierholz, senior show manager, Intersec trade fair and conference.
She noted that largely due to the mega regional expansions and deployment of advanced security products and services, the regional market for information security offers great potential to evolve into a high revenue generating industry.
Information security services represent the largest and the fastest growing segment of the global security market followed by security software.
Information security hardware products account for a minor portion of the total market, the segment is forecast to post an impressive CAGR of 19 percent.
“We are entering a phase of major metamorphosis with several cutting edge technologies emerging every day to face the new trials in the form of increased security threats, and the ever-changing risk environment in which we operate,” Schierholz noted.
Prominent among the exhibitors at Intersec trade Fair and conference include manufacturers of complex network systems, security frameworks for mission critical information systems, full-proof network protection for optimum risk management, surveillance equipment.
Opening alongside the trade fair, the conference too is gaining in prominence.
The Intersec International Conference in 2009 will feature presentations by more than 60 high profile speakers, on the subject “fighting terrorism and serious organized crime.”
The topics on Information Security will include preventing identity theft in banking and finance, live hacking, information security in MNCs, industrial espionage, data protection, and many more.
Intersec trade fair and conference enjoys the ongoing support of numerous trade and government organizations namely Dubai Police, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), and BuildSafeDubai.
Intersec Trade Fair is the largest and most comprehensive security and safety event outside Europe. __
