Jeddah Health Affairs Management saved the life of a patient by providing the International Medical Center with a drug called immunoglobulin IV in time. The International Medical Center staff was performing surgery on a patient who urgently required the drug to be administered intravenously. “During the operation, the medical staff noticed that the patient was in a need of the unavailable drug, so we immediately asked Dr. Sami Badawood, head of Health Affairs Management, to provide us with it, knowing that health affairs has a large quantity of drugs at their disposal,” said Dr. Ashraf Amir, Medical Manager at the International Medical Center. According to Amir, the drug was quickly provided to the hospital, and the patient was not charged for it. “We care about patients whether they are in government or private hospitals, so when the International Medical Center asked us to provide them with the drug, we immediately did so for free without even asking about the patient's nationality,” said Badawood. According to Amir, the International Medical Center has been complaining about the shortage of drugs in Saudi markets, which makes it difficult to get required drugs quickly. Health Affairs Management was shocked to discover that private sector hospitals were finding it difficult to get the drugs that they need. “We had no idea about this situation, so we will begin an investigation to uncover the reason for this problem and try to solve it so that drugs will be available for patients in both government and private hospitals. Our slogan is: “Health for all,” said Badawood.
