MAKKAH — The seasonal committee of the Passports Department (Jawazat) has issued 61 decisions against violating pilgrims this Haj season. All violating pilgrims were sentenced to a total of 825 days in jail, and financial violations to the tune of more than SR3 million. The committee seized 14 cars that were used to transport pilgrims without permits. Fines against anyone transporting pilgrims without permit is SR50,000 for each pilgrim and a jail sentence up to 6 months. Residents face deportation and a ban from entering the Kingdom for a period of time.
