Arabian Centres opens photography contest on Saudi National Day
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 20 - 09 - 2015

RIYADH — Arabian Centres, the largest developer, owner and operator of shopping malls in Saudi Arabia, has launched Watani Al Habib, a unique photography competition to mark the 85th Saudi National Day.
The initiative allows photography enthusiasts to capture vibrant images that portray national pride and identity and submit their entries on Arabian Centres' Facebook pages.
To ensure eligibility for the contest, all photographs submitted should portray the beauty of their cities, and must include persons and a KSA national flag.
The Watani Al Habib contest is open to all citizens and residents of the Kingdom who are at least 18 years old. The photography contest is currently open and will accept entries on the Facebook pages until Oct. 9, 2015.
“The Watani Al Habib photography contest is a fitting tribute to the Kingdom's 85 years of unity and progress,” said Yassir Alammar, Public Relations and Communications Manager of Arabian Centres.
“It is a great way to celebrate our cultural diversity and connect closer with the land that is home to us all. We would encourage citizens and residents to participate in this novel initiative.”
As part of the competition, 20 photographs that receive the maximum number of ‘likes' on Facebook during the entry period will be exhibited in different Arabian Centres shopping malls, allowing mall visitors to vote for their favorite images using QR codes or through Facebook.
Each winning entry from 20 locations will be announced on Oct. 18, 2015, and the winners will be awarded the grand prize of digital cameras.
The interactive photography competition is part of Arabian Centres' commitment to bring greater awareness of Saudi Arabia's traditions and culture in an entertaining format.
Public are further invited to share their Watani Al Habib experience through participating as well as voting for the best entries through #watanialhabib
Watani Al Habib competition also demonstrates the mall operator's commitment to community engagement, underpinned by its huge social media fan base. Arabian Centres has over one million fans following on its social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. — SG
