MAKKAH — The General Cars Syndicate Friday started carrying out its emergency plan for transporting late visitors to the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah to Makkah. This is in preparation for implementing the plan for ascent to the holy sites using 200 buses. This was disclosed by secretary general and spokesman of the syndicate Marwan Rashad Zubeidi. He said the number of companies working during the Haj season this year has reached 22 after four new companies have joined the fleet of buses for transporting pilgrims. Zubeidi said no serious accidents threatening the safety of pilgrims have been reported thus far. The syndicate has carried out over 40,000 trips to transport pilgrims.
