International Process and Marine Consortium (iPromar) - a new consortium comprising Singapore-based companies - was officially formed last month to provide a suite of turnkey engineering, procurement and construction services, as well as supply chain solutions for the downstream oil and gas industries and offshore and marine industries in the Middle East. iPromar is under International Enterprise Singapore's International Partners (iPartners) Program. Adopting a project-management framework, iPromar will standardize design and target technological innovations for clients' projects. As a consortium, the companies will offer a compelling range of services and specialized technical expertise for a wide range of projects to international and major Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Region. The industry segments they will be offering their products and services include petrochemical, power & energy industry, and marine (shipbuilding and ship repairs). Led by anchor company Rotary Engineering Limited, the consortium also comprises Heatec Jietong Pte Ltd, Jason Electronics (Pte) Ltd and Pamarine Pte Ltd. Offering critical manufacturing support and ancillary services, the companies have won the trust of international clients with their understanding of global standards and practices, and their ability to comply with the highest standards of quality control and safety. Singapore nonetheless plays a significant role in the global energy industry. As Asia's center for engineering and logistics services for the oil and gas sector, Singapore is one of the world's largest oil-refinery centers and a market leader in exploration and production platforms, with 70 percent market share for jack-up rigs and FPSOs. In addition, Singapore is one of the top three centers in the world for oil and gas equipment manufacturing and servicing. “The four companies are glad to be able to come together under IE Singapore's iPartners Program. By offering complementary services and combining our experience, we will pool our resources to offer complementary quality products and services to achieve economies of scale and pass the time and cost savings to customers,” said Chia Kim Piow, chairman ∧ managing director of Rotary Engineering. Nordin Yatim, IE Singapore's Centre Director for Jeddah, “Singapore companies have a long and impressive track record in serving the offshore and marine sector. Through teaming up to offer value-added and holistic services to the Middle East energy market, we are optimistic that this consortium can play a role to help deepen and strengthen business leads, investment and trade between Singapore, and the Middle Eastern nations.” __
