Woman arrested for money smuggling By Adnan Shabrawi JEDDAH – A Nigerian woman, 30, was arrested at King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Tuesday, for trying to smuggle SR100,000, authorities said. The woman went through a women's inspection room before boarding where she was stopped for private search, which she objected to. The heavy built woman pushed away the woman inspector and tried to flee the inspection room. But she was caught and found in possession of undeclared SR100,000.She was referred to the Investigation and Prosecution Bureau on charges of money laundering. Saudi Customs requires all travelers to declare any money, jewelry, or valuable items worth SR60,000 to avoid paying customs fees when coming back with the same items. – Okaz/SG Commission raids five prostitute dens By Al-Hassan Al-Sayyed KHAMIS MUSHAYT – In coordination with Preventive Security and security patrols the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Khamis Mushayt on Wednesday busted five prostitute dens run by a group of Africans at Al-Daifa, Khalidyia and Al-Mara Districts. The security forces rounded up 11 women and 10 men and also found make-up, night gowns, contraceptives, aphrodisiacs and wigs of different sizes besides cash and jewelry. – Okaz/SG Fleeing wife handed over to family By Abdullah Al-Siqair JEDDAH – The Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Jeddah had handed over a married woman, who fled from her addict husband, to her family. Sheikh Ahmed Al-Qassim, Director of the Commission in Jeddah, said the wife handed herself over to the Commission claiming that her husband physically hurt her besides cutting off her hair a matter that made her flee. He said the Commission staffers studied her condition and confirmed that the husband was an addict and used to assault her physically. – Okaz/SG Prepaid phone cards without balance sold By Ibrahim Al-Hudhaifi AL-MEKHWAH – Three Pakistanis had swindled several people by selling them prepaid mobile telephone cards without a balance. Police in Al-Aradhiah Al-Shimaliyah had received more than one report on the swindlers who were identified by the police. Plainclothes police chased the swindlers and arrested them red-handed while selling the cards. – Okaz/SG Minor fire in girls' school By Abdul Rahman Al-Qarni and By Intissar Abu Driss ASIR/DAMMAM – Over 20 students in the First Girls' Secondary School in Bahr Abu Skeenah in Asir Region fainted on Wednesday as a minor fire was noticed in the the school premises creating panic. Maj. Gen. Saad Al-Harithi, Director of Civil Defense in Asir, said firefighting teams and Red Crescent ambulances reached the school and evacuated all the 592 students. Saad Al-Niqair, spokesperson of Health Affairs in Asir said a primary health care team including doctors and nurses arrived at the school and treated all the students. Meanwhile, the Civil Defense teams on Wednesday evacuated female students in an intermediate school in Al-Qateef as a fire broke out in the staircase room. Col. Mansour Al-Dowsari, Civil Defense spokesperson in Al-Qateef, said the fire destroyed some documents and desks but none of the 435 girls was hurt. Al-Dowsari said the cause of the fire was a cigarette butt thrown by an Asian worker.
