LOS ANGELES — Joy Behar is returning to “The View” as a co-host, part of an overhauled panel that also will include newcomers Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris. Another familiar “View” face, former co-host Sherri Shepherd, will be back as a contributor, ABC News said Tuesday. ABC has been trying to find the right formula and improved ratings for the daytime talk show since the departure of co-creator and on-air leader Barbara Walters in 2014. Behar, Cameron Bure and Faris will join returning moderator Whoopi Goldberg and co-hosts Raven-Symoné and Michelle Collins for the show's 19th season that begins Tuesday, Sept. 8. Behar, a co-host from seasons one through 16, said in a statement that she's happy to be “back home.” Actress and writer Cameron Bure starred as D.J. Tanner on the sitcom “Full House” and is part of the upcoming “Fuller House” Netflix sequel. Faris, an ABC News correspondent, was named co-anchor for the weekend edition of “Good Morning America” in 2014. — AP
