A suspected fugitive was shot dead in the Tabuk region Wednesday evening after he opened fire and killed a security-patrol man, an Interior ministry spokesman said. Another security man was injured in the shootout. A routine security patrol had spotted, chased and eventually stopped a suspect car in a desert area along the Tabuk-Madinah highway in Al-Jahra'a province in the Tabuk region. As the security men were closing in to verify the driver's identity, he pulled out a pistol and opened fire, resulting in the deadly shootout.
