New range of Citizen watches feature Satellite Wave-GPS
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 24 - 08 - 2015

CITIZEN announces the launch of a new range of watches in their Satellite Wave-GPS category. All of these timepieces can boast of the world's fastest satellite signal reception speed — as fast as 3 seconds.

Citizen first launched Eco-Drive Satellite Wave in 2011 as the world's first watch, which syncs with GPS satellites in space to display accurate time anywhere in the world. Since then, citizen have continued the pursuit of improved sensitivity and faster signal reception speed, holding onto the title of developer of the world's fastest satellite-synchronized watch.
New models launched as Satellite Wave-GPS models in 2015 receive position data in addition to time signals. This allows the watches to recognise the user's current time zone and automatically update the time and date accordingly.

The enhanced lineups are five new Satellite Wave-GPS (world time models) with an elegant, classically simple and intuitive design and a new Satellite Wave-GPS (world time multifunction model), which offer various advanced functions, including Dual Time Display and chronograph.

Both models feature very fast movement of the hands — taking less than two seconds to move forward one hour (with a world time multifunction model) — as well as the world's thinnest watch case (12.5mm for world time models and 13.1mm for a world time multifunction model).

These new watches achieve both speedy operation and better wearing comfort. They also deliver accuracy within ±5 seconds per a month even when not receiving time signals from space — the same accuracy as Citizen's highest-quality quartz movement. Citizen watch is a true manufacture d'horlogerie with a comprehensive manufacturing process that extends from creating a watch's individual components to its final assembly. The company operates in more than 100 countries around the world.

Since its founding in 1918, Citizen have held the belief of “Better Starts Now” — that is, no matter who you are and what you do, it is always possible to make something better, and now is the time to start doing it.
Sharing this belief, we have made watches, invented and improved technologies and explored the future of watches such as our propriety light-powered technology Eco-Drive and state-of-the-art satellite-synchronised timekeeping. — SG
