DUBAI — AlMansoori Specialized Engineering, the leading provider of oilfield services in the Middle East, hosted its annual health day at The Hilton Hotel, Abu Dhabi recently.

The one-day event was attended by more than 200 AlMansoori staff and partners who participated in a variety of health-related presentations and fitness demonstrations.

The event highlighted the importance of combating the debilitating effects of stress in modern life. A recent survey held by YouGov indicated that as many as 60% of the UAE workforce suffered from stress in one form or another.

Themed: ‘Stress — the Silent Killer', the program included a series of seminars and activities designed to educate attendees about the importance of being able to combat the spread of this illness.

Speaking at the occasion, Nabil Al Alawi, the CEO of AlMansoori, said: "It is very important to recognize the danger posed by stress in the increasingly hectic lifestyles of today. It is crucial that employees are empowered with the knowledge and awareness to be able to combat the advance of the condition, to be able to enjoy stress-free lives. Health day is part of our group's commitment to providing our employee family with a friendly and conducive atmosphere at their workplace."

Dr. Rounville Bardonado, AlMansoori's health adviser, presented a video of a recent detox program held for AlMansoori staff. The program, which is traditionally used to rid the body of toxins, consisted of three days of juice dieting, yoga classes, salt baths and enema treatments.

The program received such an enthusiastic response that the company has announced that they will conduct the program twice every year in order to provide more employees with the opportunity to benefit from the treatment.
The day also included a full calendar of seminars, covering topics such as adrenal fatigue, jin shin jytsu (a form of acupuncture using the hands to relive pressure points), meditation, naturopathy and tai chi.

Dr Robin Tauzin, AlMansoori's health team leader, commented: “At AlMansoori we believe our workforce is our greatest asset. Maintaining and improving their health is our number one priority."

AlMansoori is the leading provider of oilfield services in the Middle East. Founded in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 1977, the company has grown to employ a workforce of more than 3,000 across 26 countries throughout the world. In 2008, AlMansoori made the strategic decision to create holding companies AlMansoori Petroleum Services (AMPS) and AlMansoori Petroleum Industries (AMPI), which segregated the company's business units and manufacturing and fabrication unit respectively. — SG
