MAKKAH — As part of the 5-phase Haj plan for this year, several Ulema (religious scholars) will give intensive courses on religious subjects as well as daily and weekly lessons in different Shariah sciences, Arabic language, history and other subjects. The plan was announced here Friday by Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais for the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. The plan also includes complete supervision of cleaning in the Two Holy Mosques, their courtyards and utilities. Carpets will be provided and cleaned in the Prophet's Mosque while in the Grand Mosque the carpets will be withdrawn during the Haj season. Enough wheelchairs will also be provided in the Grand Mosque for the benefit of elderly and sick pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. The plan has a technical aspect that focuses on studying the needs of the buildings of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. It also includes operation and maintenance of the electrical, mechanical and electronic systems. The plan also includes dissemination of information and cultural and awareness aspects. About 15,000 male and female regular and seasonal employees, cleaners and maintenance and operation workers will carry out the plan round-the-clock, Sheikh Al-Sudais said.
