ABHA — Following recent hacking attempts against 22 Saudi public agencies, all government departments have been given special powers to utilize funds to protect their computer systems from hackers, an informed source said. He said 13 education administrations have already allocated over SR36 million to protect their data. The source further said other departments were in the process of signing contracts with US companies to test the efficacy of their protective measures. He added that the companies currently carrying out the task were found to be weak and incapable of preventing hacker attacks.
