27 heart resuscitation centers launched By Nawaf Afit RIYADH – Dr. Obeid Bin Sulaiman Al-Obeid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning and Development, launched on Monday the campaign for compulsory courses on basic lifesaving means for health practitioners. Al-Obeid stressed that heart resuscitation is considered one of the necessities for training health practitioners especially those in emergency rooms and intensive care units. Al-Obeid said many specialist training courses for doctors, nurses and administrators have been established with the aim of upgrading health services. For his part, Dr. Abdul Majeed Khan, Chairman of the Central Committee for Heart and Lung Resuscitation in the ministry, said the committee was able to increase the number of heart and lung resuscitation centers from 6 to 27 in different parts of the Kingdom. – Okaz/SG WAMY signs MoU with Al-Rajhi charity RIYADH – Dr. Saleh Bin Sulaiman Al-Wahibi, Secretary General of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), has recently signed here a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Abdul Rahman Bin Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Secretary General of Suleiman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Rajhi Charitable Foundation, for joint cooperation and development of society according to the regulations prevalent in the Kingdom. – SPA Transport projects awarded early RIYADH – Dr. Jubarab Bin Eid Al-Suraiseri, Minister of Transport, on Monday asserted that all of his ministry's endorsed projects in 2007-08 were awarded early before the end of the year, including 340 projects costing nearly SR8 billion. He said the ministry will begin executing the projects as soon as it receives its allocations from the new budget.
