The image made from a militant video posted on a social media site purports to show a militant standing next to another man who identifies himself as 30-year-old Tomislav Salopek, kneeling down as he reads a message at an unknown location. Daesh (the so-called IS) claimed Wednesday to have beheaded the Croatian hostage abducted in Egypt, posting a purported picture of the victim's body on Daesh-affiliated Twitter accounts. Salopek was abducted last month west of the capital Cairo. The militants had issued a 48-hour deadline that ended last Friday threatening to kill him if Muslim women prisoners were not released from Egyptian jails. — AP
