JEDDAH — Madagascar Live! The live action theatrical production of one of the most popular animations of all time, began here on Wednesday, the day the troupe landed here. The performance was showcased live from that day and will continue till Aug. 15 at Jeddah Center for Forums and Events known as Al Harithy Center. The live-action show brought the adventures of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo to Saudi Arabia for the first time as part of Jeddah Summer Festival “Jeddah Ghair 36.” A large venue was set to host the entertaining event with the capacity of 2,300 kids and their families. As part of ‘Jeddah Festival 36' Madagascar Live is just one slice of an amazing line-up of 100 events of entertainment, social, sports, cultural activities and many more performances for all age group. The show is based on the original DreamWorks animation starring the voices off Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith. Madagascar a live theatrical show based on the blockbuster DreamWorks Animation franchise, reliving the fun and humor of the animals and their escapades, was brilliantly recreated in an arena production of lively storytelling, dance and music, including the hit song ‘Move It, Move It'. Audiences of all ages loved the wild and action-packed adventure as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and the plotting penguins escape from their home at New York's Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien's Madagascar. This celebration of friendship was brought vividly to life by imaginative sets and costumes, joyous dance numbers and spectacular new songs bringing West End values to the arena environment. A cast of 25 characters took the audience on a journey from Central Park Zoo all the way to the beaches of Madagascar in a song-filled show for the whole family. Tatyana, the director of the Madagascar Show, Linah, Sameer, the Project Manager and complete Madagascar Film Master Team in their talk with Saudi gazette appreciated the performers for another big success and thanked the audience for their presence. Apart from the show a number of entertaining games such as the Jumping Castles, Sponge slides, knocking the bravest out, were organized at the Jeddah Exhibition Center for kids and families along with refreshing food stalls. Many talented artists even displayed their art and craft works and valuable paintings.
