Saudi Gazette report TABUK — The local committee supervising municipal council elections in Tabuk will hold six workshops across the province starting Monday to train staff in voting centers, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Head of the committee Mohammad Al-Amri said the committee plans to train all members of the sub-committees to help them to run the voting process in an organized manner. “We already held one workshop but it was for the heads of election centers and municipalities. A total of 315 election officers attended the workshop, in addition to 13 municipality heads,” said Al-Amri. He said the workshop covered a number of topics related to the elections, scheduled for December. “The workshop discussed the nomination and elimination procedures and the methods of voting. There are 45 voting centers in Tabuk Province and all of them were represented in the workshop,” said Al-Amri. He said the workshops were held at the men's section but it was streamed live through YouTube for the benefit of women participants. “We also sent the heads of the women center links of all programs at the workshop. The upcoming workshops are in Taima, Haql, Dhiba, Al-Wajh and Umluj. The workshops will be held separately at the men's s and women's sections of voting centers,” said Al-Amri. He said the centers where the workshops would be held are Umrawiyah Primary School for Boys, Al-Thaniyah Ashr Junior High School for Girls and voting centers in Bir Bin Harmas, Taimaa, Al-Qulaibah, Haql, Al-Bidaa, Umluj, Al-Shabha, Al-Wajh, Al-Manjour and Ashwaq. “Municipality officials will be always on hand to offer any assistance required. The municipality can act as a reference point when any questions arise at any of the voting centers. “If any violations were detected during campaigns and the voting process, the center must report the candidate to the municipality immediately for unbiased action,” said Al-Amri.
