JEDDAH — Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, who is the chairman of the ministerial committee to supervise public transport projects in the province, will chair a meeting of the committee in Jeddah on Sunday to review the progress of the project in the city. The public transport project in Jeddah consists of a metro, a bus network and a tram service. Tenders for the construction of the metro, the Obhur suspended bridge and the Corniche tram will be awarded this year. The public transport project, at a total cost of SR45 billion, is expected to be completed by 2020 and will be fully operational in 2022. Makkah and Taif will have similar projects.
