Mutlaqah, Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture branch in Asir Region, said all the branches of the ministry have received many complaints and reports from farmers saying that their crops have been damaged by cold wind sweeping the region. A committee has been formed to check and assess the damages. During the past two days prices of vegetables have gone up considerably. The cold wave affecting farms in Najran Region has contributed greatly to the price increase as well. The price of a 5kg carton of zucchini rose to SR90 from R20 a few days ago.
