JEDDAH — Jeddah Municipality has revealed that it has started installing 112 surveillance cameras at the northern Corniche as part of efforts to clamp down on crime after the sexual harassment of two girls at the seafront by a mob of young men caused a public outcry. Several teenagers were seen harassing two girls at the Corniche on Eid day in a video that went viral on social media websites. Police swiftly arrested some of the teenagers and referred them to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution (BIP). As investigations into the case continued, a court on Wednesday refused to grant bail to the suspects and extended their detention by 15 days.
