Turkey, Egypt, UAE well-liked destinations for KSA travelers
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 07 - 2015

Destinia.com has unveiled the most popular travel destinations for KSA travelers during the forthcoming Eid holidays. Searches and reservations for flights and hotels through Destinia.com revealed that Turkey, Egypt, the UAE and Germany are some of the top trending travel destinations for Eid Al-Fitr this year.
In first place, Istanbul is the most popular destination of choice for local holidaymakers, reiterating Turkey's position as a hub for Saudi outbound tourism. The popular resort Sharm El Sheikh is second in the ranking, demonstrating Egypt's tourism recovery. Domestic travel, on the other hand, is still very popular in the Kingdom, with Riyadh making it to the third position.
“Eid holidays are the perfect opportunity to spend time with family and friends,” said Ines Chueca, Strategic Partnerships Manager for Destinia.com. “This year's top destinations reflect both the local market's preferences, but also the efforts of international destinations to attract travelers from this part of the world,” she added. “For example, we can see how Egypt is resurging as a tourist destination with its family-friendly holiday spots, and initiatives like the Masr Qariba, the country's new campaign which highlights Egypt's proximity to other Arab countries through culture, history and social grounds.”
Dubai in the UAE remains as a clear contender to the most coveted holiday spot with its wide range of family-friendly lifestyle and leisure alternatives, while Munich in Germany made it as the most popular European destination among KSA travelers, followed by Miami, Kuala Lumpur, Paris and London.
“European countries, on the other hand, continue to attract Middle Eastern tourists. In light of this, Destinia has joined efforts with Tourism Germany to promote the country amongst GCC travelers,” Chueca added.
One of Europe's top online travel agencies, Destinia.com boasts a selection of 300,000 hotels and 600 airlines around the world, offering an infinite number of destinations for travelers to choose from this Eid.
The website takes pride in offering travel expertise through bespoke servicing. Catering to each market's preferences, Destinia.com offers several payment modalities, including a cash-on-delivery service pay@home in KSA and the UAE. In the Middle East Destinia.com has offices in Cairo and Dubai to ensure premium services to customers 24 hours a day.
Having witnessed 140% increase in growth sales in the Middle East last year, Destinia.com aims to be positioned as one of top three online travel agencies by 2017 in the region. – SG
