Fire destroys awnings cluster

RIYADH — Civil Defense firefighting teams in Riyadh fought a fire that broke out among a cluster of awnings located at the northern ring road in Al-Nakheel district opposite King Abdullah Financial Center on Thursday.
Maj. Muhammad Al-Hammadi, spokesman for the Civil Defense in Riyadh region, said the Control and Guidance Center was informed of the fire at 6:39 p.m.
Teams from the Civil Defense and support services rushed to the scene and continued to battle the fire even after 10:00 p.m.
