MAKKAH — A woman in her 30s gave birth to triplets through cesarean delivery at Hira Hospital in Makkah. Obstetrician Dr. Amani Hariri said the woman was expecting twins but instead she gave birth to two boys and a girl. “The woman already has three children and her medical reports showed that she was bearing twins. She had not been very punctual in her medical checkups," said Hariri. "She had to go through a cesarean but all three babies are well and healthy.” Neonatal consultant Dr. Ahmad Hamour said the triplets weighed between 1.2 and 1.6 kilograms. “They are all healthy and sound. They have some difficulty breathing and are now on a ventilator. They are being fed through a tube and they will be fine and will be ready to leave the hospital in three weeks. The medical team has done a great job considering we were not expecting triplets,” said Hamour. Hira Hospital Director Dr. Waleed Hussain said it was very important for all pregnant women to be regular in their hospital visits for checkups.
