year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter were crushed to death when steel and wood from the roof of their house fell on them on Monday in Qasim region. Some workers were doing repairs and putting clay on the roof, which seems to have caused a part of it to fall on the victims. The Civil Defense teams dispatched to the house – south of Oqlat Al-Soqour, 250 km west of here, extracted the bodies and the Red Crescent removed them to the morgue at the hospital. Major Ibrahim Abalkhail, spokesman for Qasim Civil Defense, warned against additional construction in houses without engineering supervision. The Civil Defense is also investigating a fire that burned to death a 12-year-old girl in a room in her parents' house in Al-Qadisyyah District of Onaizah Monday evening. Firefighters extinguished the fire that broke out on the ground floor of the house but could not save the girl.
