Three female Saudi students from the graphic design department of Dar Al-Hekma College were the prize winners of the logo design contest for a national company. The Saudi company, Legend's Mist, organized the contest in order to encourage students and provide them with the necessary skills for employment in the private sector. Out of 15 students from Dar Al-Hekma College, Areej Atalla won the first place SR25,000 prize, Niveen Bahadur finished second and was awarded SR15,000, while Areej Al-Kurah came third to win SR10,000. Mazen Radwan, CEO of Legend's Mist, pointed out that his company supported future generations as part of its community responsibility. “It is one of our goals and it is taken into consideration in everything we do. The strategy we have pursued for the design and selection of our company's logo is different from the traditional approach in dealing with professional designers or specialized agencies,” Radwan said. He added that the company employs the idea of learning through community service. “The idea is to involve students in practical activities as well as theoretical studies. We are happy with the new logo designed by the winners,” he said. “We were amazed that a young student could produce a logo design that received our full satisfaction and corresponds to our objectives in terms of color, form and substance,” he added. “It was my first real experience and a challenge to achieve my goals and my ambitions. It has also greatly increased my self confidence,” Areej Atalla, winner of the first prize said.
