The Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) has signed a contract with the International Dar Al Bandar Company (Arabic Landmark), which has the franchise for many famous brands such as Centrepoint, Homecentre, IMAX, Citymax and others, to build an integrated warehouse center on a 150,000 square meters at the Sudair City for Industry and Business. The contract was signed by Director General of MODON Saleh Al-Rasheed, and Prince Bandar Bin Saud Bin Khalid Al Saud, Chairman of Board of Arabic Landmark.
This contract represents only the first phase of the project, with the deal for the second phase expected to be signed next year, expanding the center to additional 300,000 square meters.
“Sudair City for Industry and Business, which is the largest industrial city in KSA today is promising and constantly growing. The city is witnessing a steady growth at the level of the number of factories and variety of services and production patterns,”said Al Rashid.
Presently there are 34 industrial cities in all regions of KSA. The number of industrial cities has more than doubled from 14 industrial cities in 2008, an increase of nearly 145%.
There is 178 million square meters of developed industrial sector properties in the industrial cities and the number of factories supervised by MODON has increased to 5,600 factories. — SG
