Samsung Notebooks, Netbooks launched
JEDDAH - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in consumer electronics and world leader in IT technology, announced on Tuesday its launch in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates notebook market. The product lineup will include notebooks in four different categories-Premium Thin & Light, Mobile Optimum, Business, Desktop Replacement, and also the Netbook segment.
“With Samsung's entry into the notebook market, we are now able to provide a complete PC computing solution to our customers,” said Madhav Narayan, General Manager, IT division, Samsung Gulf Electronics. “The introduction of Samsung's premium notebook offerings in the KSA solidifies Samsung as a global technology leader, providing advanced mobile computing designs of the highest reliability and quality.”
“Over 60 percent of the core components that go into Samsung notebooks are Samsung-branded-from memory to hard drives to the LCD and the batteries - setting Samsung apart from its competitors. Because of this Samsung is in control of every aspect of each notebook from its chassis design to its hardware and software integration,” he added.
Starting the range is the X360, a 13.3-inch premium ultra thin-and-light notebook. The X360 is “lighter than air” weighing in at 2.8 pounds and achieving up to an incredible 10 hours of continuous usage, supporting Samsung's latest 300nits SuperBright LED backlit LCD display. The X360 has a rugged magnesium alloy chassis and a strength-providing aluminum plate behind the LCD and a new “pebble” style keyboard, the perfect choice for users who demand and value the best in technology and style.
Samsung's NC10, is a netbook with a 10.2-inch wide SuperBright LCD, enhanced capacity battery and a huge 160GB hard drive. It will be available in white or metallic blue color options. With high-end features such as a 10.2-inch wide 1024 x 600 display, it also features Intel's latest CPU - the 1.6 GHz N270 Atom processor, 1GB of DDR2 800 MHz RAM, 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and a built-in 1.3 mega-pixel webcam. – SG
Nokia Music Store goes live in UAE
DUBAI - Nokia announced on Monday that the Nokia Music Store in the United Arab Emirates has gone live http://music.nokia.ae, offering people access to a wide range of music tracks with a unique user experience either from the PC or compatible Nokia device.
“We are very excited to be extending the Nokia Music Store to our consumers in the UAE, as the market has demonstrated that it is ready for such a service. The UAE is one of the leading regional markets in terms of digital connectivity, and has one of the highest Internet penetrations in the Arab world, with an extensive 3.5G network provided by both operators,” said Chris Braam, vice president, Sales, Nokia Middle East and North Africa.
Individual tracks on the Nokia Music Store cost AED3, and albums cost AED30 per album. The online store also offers a monthly subscription for PC streaming for AED20 per month. All music can be purchased using UAE credit cards.
With a single account, music lovers can access the Nokia Music Store via their desktop computer using the latest Nokia Music for PC software, which can be downloaded for free from http://music.nokia.ae.
The software allows users to manage their music, create playlists, and synchronize their music library with their Nokia device.
