JEDDAH — Hankook Racing Team claimed a valuable victory in the first round of Drift Force Championship courtesy of veteran Saeed Al-Mouri, who was able to display his leadership techniques and skills across the course of the event. Hankook's first appearance earlier this year came in the Drifting Championship and while the squad performed well, its primary objective was focused on preparing the team and its cars for the Drift Force Championship. Mouri was delighted to claim his first victory of the year particularly in light of the large number of participants. The first round itself consisted of four stages between Riyadh, Jeddah and the East. “Thank God we were finally able to show what we are able to do,” Mouri said, adding: “We could not demonstrate our full capability in the previous tournament due to several reasons.” “Nonetheless, it was important to get the necessary experience required from the first races before moving to the Drift Force Championship, which is somewhat stronger.” He said: “Hankook Racing Team promised that victory would be ours if we enjoyed a normal weekend and that has been achieved in the end. I am very happy not only because we won the first round but because we have beaten some teams that were strong in the last races.” Mouri believes his victory will provide him with the extra incentive to give the same level of performance across future rounds, with the aim of resolving the championship title in his favor. He said: “There are three rounds remaining in the championship and we have proven here that we are able to win a significant portion of the challenge. Our goal now is to win the championship by claiming the best possible results across the next three rounds.” Mouri also thanked the Hankook Racing Team, which provided him with a chance to perform competitively in the championship. The second round begins at the end of this month. — SG
