MADINAH — The Red Crescent received 1,387 emergency cases during the first three days of Ramadan. Madinah Red Crescent spokesman Khalid Al-Sahly said 791 of the cases were due to strokes, heart attacks and other medical emergencies. The Red Crescent was able to respond to 569 of the cases. A total of 392 were treated by paramedics on the spot and 177 had to be taken to the hospital. Another 222 cases were related to road accidents and the rest were various other emergencies such as accidents at home. A total of 156 were treated by paramedics on the spot and 67 had to be taken to hospital. He added that volunteer groups working with the Red Crescent in the Prophet's Mosque were also dealing with emergency cases. They dealt with a total of 596 cases and 45 victims had to be taken to the hospital, while 273 male victims were treated on the spot. Another 323 female victims were also treated on the spot by a women's volunteering group working with the Red Crescent.
