RIYADH – Seven confirmed coronavirus cases were registered last week (June 14-20) in Riyadh and Hofouf, the Ministry of Health said in its weekly statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The ministry said 911 coronavirus samples were tested in the ministry's laboratories during the same period. The rapid response team for combating health facilities infection visited four facilities. The number of public health teams' visits for those who came in contact with positive cases reached seven. The number of people who came in contact at home with positive cases reached 59. The ministry confirmed that 572 cases, afflicted with coronavirus or 55.2 percent of the total confirmed cases reaching 1,038, have been cured. Meanwhile, seven cases are still under treatment. The Command and Control Center in the ministry is continuing its efforts around the clock through monitoring and making sure that the government and private health facilities comply with the implementation of measures to counter infection as well as coordinating with the concerned government sectors, international health organizations and houses of experience so as to keep pace with the latest developments on coronavirus. The ministry, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, is continuing its efforts to carry out awareness campaigns at gathering points for camels and those mixing with them including owners and herders. The aim is to take precautionary measures when dealing with camels. The ministry stressed that its efforts will continue in cooperation with all parties. — SG
