LONDON — The first trailer for American actress Nicole Kidman's historical drama “Queen of the Desert” is out. Both intriguing and thrilling, the promo gives a brief insight into the relationship between the characters played by Robert Pattinson and Kidman. Also starring are Hollywood actors James Franco and Damian Lewis. The native Australian actress portrays writer and British secret service operative, Gertrude Bell, in the film, Albawaba.com reports. Bell has been dubbed as a female “Lawrence of Arabia” for her role in shaping a new political order in the Middle East following the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. A major segment of filming took place in Morocco and Petra, Jordan. Principal photography with the main cast started in Merzouga on 13 January, 2014. Filming also took place at Marrakesh and Arfoud and continued until Feb., 2014, in Ouarzazate, Morocco. “Queen of the Desert” premiered at Berlin International Film Festival and is expected to hit US theaters later this year. - Agencies
