RIYADH – Beginning today (Monday) it will be an offense to make anyone work under the sun between 12 noon and 3.00 p.m., according to the Ministry of Labor regulations. The ban will continue till Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015. Violators will have to pay a fine of minimum SR3,000 and a maximum of SR10,000 for each violation or the firm will be closed down for a maximum period 30 days or permanently. Dr. Abdullah Bin Nasser Abu Thinain, undersecretary of the ministry of labor for inspection and developing work environment, said the regulation exempts some governorates due to the difference in temperature. He said the regulation also exempts workers of oil and gas companies and maintenance workers in emergency cases.
