The launching of the first official motor sports competition will be patronized by Prince Sultan Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, General President of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Olympic Committee at the Reem International Circuit (RIC) here Friday. The competition will mark the first round of the Super Cup organized by Saudi Sabaq Company with 11 rare cars manufactured specifically for the Kingdom being raced around the 3.8 km circuit, 55 km south-west of Riyadh. The RIC consists of several smaller tracks including a 1.2 km go-karting track, 1.4 km drag strip and an off road track which meet all international standards, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Five teams will compete in the first round including Mobily Al-Faisal, Selli, Al-Gosaibi, Zein and Alesayi. The event will be broadcast on the Saudi television sports channel, live.
