Al-Harja Police north of Dhahran Al-Janoub seized two cars carrying 48 tiles of hashish. The drivers of the two cars escaped the moment they were stopped by security patrols. Col. Abdullah Ayidh Al-Qarni, spokesperson of Asir Region Police, said two cars were seized in Al-Harja rural center. The first contained 48 tiles of hashish while the second car was watching from a distance. The hashish and the two cars were seized and handed over to the Drug Combat Department in Dhahran Al-Janoub. The police were able to identify the two escaped motorists. The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Mahayil Asir Governorate confiscated alcohol in a sting operation. Two Ethiopian bootleggers were arrested on arrival and 325 bottles of locally distilled alcohol worth SR14,000 was seized.
