The Administrative Court here will look into a citizen's lawsuit against the governor of Al-Hinakiyyah, near Madina, on Jan. 12 The plaintiff claimed the official had him jailed over a dispute he had with another man over a well in Al-Dhomayryyah Village. The lawsuit comes a day after the court fined Khaibar Governor Ghalib Saud Al-Muhammedi SR14,000 for imprisoning a man for 14 days in a similar case. In the new lawsuit, the plaintiff, Majid Muraisheed Al-Mutairi, said a representative and a security officer came to his house in Ramadan and took him to Al-Dhumairiyyah Police station for investigation “on the basis of an urgent fax from the governorate of Al-Hinakiyyah.” “As soon as I arrived there, I was handcuffed and jailed before an officer interrogated me. I was later released on bail,” Al-Mutairi said. The plaintiff's lawyer, Abdul Rahman Al-Namir, said his client is seeking compensation for violating regulations by arresting, interrogating and jailing him without any warning. He said his client filed a detailed complaint but the governor refused to budge and told him to get out of the building or face jail again.
