KOLKATA — Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs to lift the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL) title here Sunday. Chennai never got going in its colossal 203-run chase against Mumbai. Lasith Malinga, Mitchell McClenaghan, Vinay Kumar, and Harbhajan Singh were as miserly as they were effective, and none of CSK's batsmen crossed 57. They were restricted to 161-8. Dwayne Smith was the top-scorer for Chennai, but his 57 came in 48 balls. Rohit Sharma's men became the third team after Chennai and Kolkata Knight Riders to win IPL twice. Earlier, Dhoni won the all-important toss, and surprisingly elected to bowl first. Lendl Simmons and Rohit Sharma added 119 to help Mumbai post a huge total.
