Electrical fault forces hospital evacuation

JEDDAH — A total of 41 women and children were evacuated from Jeddah Maternity and Children's Hospital in Al-Aziziyah District after an electrical fault led to smoke filling the building on Sunday. Some of the hospital's equipment such as a dentistry chair started overheating. The hospital was completely evacuated over 20 minutes and patients and staff were sent back to their rooms and offices after the Civil Defense resolved the problem. No one was injured. Head of the hospital Dr. Ahmad Al-Harby said a similar incident happened on Saturday.
