Sobhi Batterjee President & Group CEO of Saudi German Hospital Group (SGH) was presented with the 2008 Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein of Jordan at a ceremony held in Amman, Jordan. Batterjee was presented with the award for his contribution and efforts made in the healthcare Industry in the Middle East and North Africa region. “These awards increase the responsibility on me and the group to work for the good of community and provide quality healthcare service to people through innovative business models.” Batterjee said he is driven by higher objective of going to “Jannat Al Firdous” and healthcare is the means to that goal. He said that this award gives him immense satisfaction that his relentless efforts along with the entire management, doctors & staff of the Saudi German Hospitals Group is “appreciated by institutions, professionals and gives us the confidence that we are on the right track.” Batterjee said the SGH group is well on its course to have 30 world class hospitals by the year 2015 and 5 medical colleges by the year 2020, which will provide 50,000 jobs for the economy. He said this recognition is also the effort of his family involvement in the field of medicine for last 40 years. In early 2009 Batterjee will represent the Middle East in the World Entrepreneur of the Year Award' set to be held in Monaco.
