RIYADH — The Saudi-led coalition forces carried out 130 sorties during the past 24 hours targeting 100 Houthi militia sites in Saada, Marran, Al-Buqa, and the border strip between the Kingdom and Yemen, said Brig. Gen. Ahmad Asiri, spokesperson of the coalition forces and adviser at the office of the minister of defense. The airstrikes targeted command and control centers and offices of 17 leading Houthi figures, he said addressing a press conference here on Saturday. Asiri stressed that the coalition forces were enforcing the three main objectives of the Operation Restoration of Hope, which are to prevent the movement of the Houthi militias on the ground, the protection of Yemeni civilians, and facilitating relief work. Intensive airstrikes Friday evening against the Houthis in Saada led to the destruction of numerous command headquarters, militia camps and gathering points. The airstrikes since 7.00 p.m. on Friday achieved their objectives in Saada governorate by destroying Houthi command headquarters, foremost of which were the command headquarters of Abdulmalik Al-Houthi in Dhahyan, Jabal Al-Tays and Majaz province. They contained telecommunication centers and arms and ammunition depots. Command headquarters of many other Houthi figures including Muhammad Hassan Qibli in the Bani Mu'adh area and Hameed Al-Sammad were also destroyed in airstrikes on Friday. They also destroyed the headquarters of the spokesman of the Houthi militia command Muhammad Abdulsalam in Sahar province and many other figures. The coalition command said its planes pounded at dawn Saturday a Houthi militia gathering point containing military equipment and tanks in Al-Buqa, east of Saada and Houthi camps in Al-Nadheer area, west of Saada. The coalition command confirmed that it will continue its intensive air raids against Houthi command headquarters and their camps and gathering points.
