Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc seal strategic joint business partnership

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker and Royal Air Maroc Chairman and CEO Driss Benhima sign the joined business agreement recently at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai

QATAR Airways and Royal Air Maroc have announced the launch of a strategic joint business agreement on their services between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker and Royal Air Maroc Chairman and CEO Driss Benhima signed the joined business agreement recently at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, in the presence of international press and travel trade partners.
The joint business will benefit passengers by providing enhanced links between Qatar and Morocco, greater choice of flights to more destinations and improved frequent flyer benefits.
With this new agreement, passengers will be able to purchase a single itinerary combining flights on both carriers' global networks, affording them the ease of one-stop ticketing and baggage check-in.
Royal Air Maroc will be operating three weekly flights with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Doha complimenting Qatar Airways' existing seven times weekly flights to Casablanca, giving passengers the flexibility of using a combination of flights from both airlines between Qatar and Morocco, significantly increasing their options.
Qatar Airways and Royal Air Maroc will also be improving flight transfers for passengers through enhancing and expanding the codeshare network beyond their respective hub cities of Doha and Casablanca.
“Strengthening the ties between Qatar and Morocco, the joint business with Royal Air Maroc is a major win for Qatar Airways' passengers flying to Casablanca, and beyond to destinations in Africa,” said Al Baker.
“This is great news for passengers doing business in African cities and for leisure travellers as well, and we look forward to having them experience our award-winning service, particularly as they may have previously used alternative gateways to get to their final destination.”
The President of Royal Air Maroc said “the Moroccan company is pleased to conclude this historic partnership that consolidates fraternal relations between the two countries.”
Benhima said “this agreement is a crucial phase in the history of Royal Air Maroc since it allows us to create a "bridge" between Asia and Africa that will facilitate the movement of customers in the most convenient way due to the extensive network of Qatar Airways in Asia and the dense network of Royal Air Maroc in Africa by enabling them to transit seamlessly through the hubs of the two companies, namely Doha and Casablanca.” — SG
