Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), has been selected to receive this year's Alexandre Koyr Medal, the Paris-based International Academy of History of Sciences announced Friday night. The award has been given once every two years since 1968 to outstanding scholars for their studies in the history of science. Ihsanoglu, the first Turkish scholar to be awarded this medal, will receive the award at a ceremony in Paris at a later date, according to a OIC press release issued here. __
