Saudi Gazette report ABHA — Police have arrested a secondary school student in Khamis Mushayat who allegedly stabbed one of his classmates with a dagger after school last week. The incident, according to Al-Watan on Tuesday, took place outside the First Secondary School. The victim was 18-year-old Mishal Al-Anzi who was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. The police said the prime suspect was arrested and was being interrogated while the search was still going on for the two other attackers. Anzi's mother said her son was attacked by three students who stabbed him with a dagger. “I hope the police will not allow bail for the prime suspect until the investigations are over and the culprits are severely punished,” she said. She refused to relinquish her personal rights and said justice must be served for her only son. “The case should be referred to the court after the investigations are concluded. We have to know why the three students attacked my son and almost took his life.” The woman said her son was stabbed with a 14 cm long knife that left a three cm deep puncture in his lung. “My son spent two days at the general hospital in Khamis Mushayat before he was transferred to Asir Central Hospital due to the seriousness of his condition,” she said, adding that her son was kept in the general surgery section because there was no bed for him in the intensive care unit. She said her son was a “brilliant student and good mannered” based on the testimonials of teachers who visited him in the hospital. Col. Abdullah Al-Zafran, spokesman for Asir Police, said they have identified the two other suspects and will soon arrest them if they do not turn themselves in.
