Mr. Khaled Almaeena the author of "Simplistic media analyses can harm Gulf-Pakistan relations" (Apr. 26) has clearly shown his understanding of the subject. There can be no question of Pakistani support if the sovereignty of the Kingdom is challenged. As Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has already made clear, the security of Saudi Arabia is a red line for Pakistan. Each and every Pakistani will become a defender of Saudi Arabia's integrity. Pakistan's army is fighting against terrorism and to bring peace not only to Pakistan but to the world. Man Gentle, Online response
I thank Mr. Almaeena for writing the most sensible article in the Gulf press so far about the Pakistan-Gulf rift over Yemen. While general members of the public can be expected to think less rationally, one does expect print media journalists to prefer sanity over sensationalism.

Day after day, writers state their opinions in the world's media outlets without understanding what they are writing about. All news, opinions, etc. should be carefully monitored to avoid undesirable and insensitive news being published. I wish that all publication had writers of the caliber of Mr. Khaled Almaeena.

I thank the author for understanding the position of Pakistan and trying to explain it to his readers. Pakistan indeed is passing through difficult times fighting on both of its borders and within against threats to its very existence. But our Arab brothers should remain confident that we will not sit idly by if they face any threat. Our weapons are not for display purposes only.
