Bangalore thrashes Rajasthan
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 25 - 04 - 2015

AHMEDABAD — Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) handed the high-flying Rajasthan Royals (RR) their second loss on the trot, when they trumped the top-ranked side by nine wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 Friday.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers scored 62 not out and 47 not out respectively as the Royal Challengers Bangalore registered their second win in the tournament.
Mitchell Starc was the star with the ball grabbing three wickets for 22 runs off his four overs, as Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel claimed two wickets as it were the Bangalore bowlers who actually set up the game for their side, restricting Rajasthan to 130-9.
Rajasthan Royals squandered a positive start provided by their openers and it turned out to be a bad day for them with the bat, as none of their frontline batsmen could make a mark.
Steven Smith was the only one who went past 30-run mark while the others struggled.
Brief scores:
Rajasthan Royals 130-9 in 20 overs (Steven Smith 31; Mitchell Starc 3 for 22, Yuzvendra Chahal 2 for 25). Royal Challengers Bangalore 134 for 1 in 16.1 overs (Chris Gayle 20, Virat Kohli 62 not out, AB de Villiers 47 not out). — SG
