JEDDAH — The municipality has secured 3 million square meters of land that had been illegally encroached upon. The encroachers took over large plots and built fences and walls around them in an attempt to sell them to citizens even though they had no permits to do so. A municipality team moved in with heavy machinery to demolish any building on these plots and reclaim them as government property.
